Our standard traveling museum case is constructed with Medium Density Overlay (MDO) plywood. This is a specially treated plywood that reduces off-gassing and provides an excellent moisture barrier. This moisture barrier can also be enhanced with water-borne polyurethane or acrylic coatings. Polystyrene insulation can be added for airfreight shipments or where temperature fluctuations are a concern.

Basic construction includes ¾ inch battens which are glued and nailed. All seams are sealed with acrylic caulk or natural cure silicones and lids are sealed with neoprene gaskets. The cases can be fitted with your choice of nut-and-bolt or cam lock closures. Archival custom fit interiors are designed to the museum's specification using all the latest materials such as Ethafoam, Volara, acid free foam boards and Marvelseal, to name a few.
